AwaOwn Terms of Use
Operated by Rheel Technology Limited · Website: www.awaown.com · Email: hello@awaown.com · Location: Abuja, Nigeria · Effective Date: 15/09/2026 · Last Updated: 15/09/2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of AwaOwn, including the AwaOwn website, applications, online stores, marketplace, payment services, fulfilment services, technology and related services.
AwaOwn is operated by Rheel Technology Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
By registering for an account, purchasing a product, listing a product, becoming an AwaOwn Partner, or using any part of the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use AwaOwn.
2. What AwaOwn Does
AwaOwn is a social commerce and marketplace platform that connects:
Merchants who supply products;
Partners who promote products;
Shoppers who purchase products; and
Logistics providers who deliver orders.
AwaOwn may also purchase, own and hold its own inventory.
AwaOwn may fulfil products through two models:
FBA (Fulfilled by AwaOwn): the product is held in an AwaOwn warehouse or fulfilment facility and AwaOwn handles fulfilment.
FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant): the Merchant holds the product and is responsible for preparing and handing the order to the approved delivery provider.
The applicable fulfilment model may be shown on the relevant product or order.
3. Our Role
AwaOwn provides the technology and infrastructure that allows users to discover, promote, purchase, fulfil and manage products.
Depending on the transaction, AwaOwn may act as: marketplace operator; technology provider; payment collection and transaction-management provider; warehouse and fulfilment provider; seller of AwaOwn-owned inventory; or other service provider identified in the relevant transaction.
A Merchant remains responsible for products that the Merchant owns or supplies, subject to the specific arrangements governing FBA products.
AwaOwn is not automatically responsible for every act or omission of an independent Merchant, Partner or third-party logistics provider.
4. Users
AwaOwn has several categories of users.
Shoppers: people who use AwaOwn to purchase products.
Merchants: individuals or businesses that supply products for sale through AwaOwn.
Partners: independent individuals, creators, affiliates or other promoters who promote products and earn commissions from qualifying sales.
Administrators and Service Providers: AwaOwn employees, contractors and authorised service providers who operate the Platform.
5. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an AwaOwn account.
Businesses may register through an authorised representative.
You may maintain only one personal AwaOwn account unless AwaOwn expressly permits otherwise.
You must provide truthful, complete and current information.
AwaOwn may request identity, business, banking, address or other verification information before allowing you to access particular services.
6. Account Security
You are responsible for protecting your account credentials.
You must notify AwaOwn promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless you can show that the activity resulted from circumstances outside your reasonable control.
You must not sell, transfer or lend your account to another person.
7. Verification
AwaOwn may verify: identity; business registration; bank details; address; product ownership; product authenticity; regulatory approvals; documents; facial identity; payment information; and other information reasonably required to operate a safe marketplace.
Verification does not mean that AwaOwn guarantees a Merchant, Partner or product.
8. Products
Every Merchant must provide accurate information about products listed on AwaOwn.
Product information must not be false, misleading or deceptive.
Merchants must provide relevant information including, where applicable: product name; price; specifications; quantity; size; colour; materials; ingredients; manufacturer; country of origin; expiry date; batch information; warnings; warranty information; and other information required by law.
The FCCPC has recently reiterated the importance of proper product labelling, including manufacturing information, expiry dates, batch numbers, manufacturer details, ingredients and country-of-origin information. (FCCPC)
9. Prohibited Products
AwaOwn does not permit products or services that are unlawful or prohibited under the AwaOwn Prohibited Products Policy.
This includes, among other things: weapons and ammunition; illegal drugs; counterfeit goods; stolen goods; pornography; illegal adult products; gambling products or services; tobacco and prohibited nicotine products; alcohol where prohibited; unapproved medicines; dangerous chemicals; illegal financial schemes; products making unlawful medical claims; protected wildlife; illegal animal products; products prohibited by Nigerian regulators; and products otherwise prohibited by AwaOwn.
AwaOwn may remove or restrict a product without prior notice where necessary.
10. Orders
A shopper submits an order by completing the checkout process.
An order may be rejected or cancelled where: the product is unavailable; the Merchant cannot fulfil the order; a pricing or technical error occurred; fraud is suspected; payment cannot be verified; the product is prohibited; the transaction breaches these Terms; or cancellation is required by law.
11. Payments
AwaOwn may collect and hold transaction funds in connection with an order.
Funds may remain pending until the order has been delivered and confirmed.
AwaOwn may use the four-digit delivery PIN as evidence of delivery confirmation.
Once an order has been properly confirmed, the funds become eligible for release, subject to applicable refunds, returns, chargebacks, disputes, fees and other deductions.
Merchant and Partner payouts are generally processed on Mondays after the relevant funds become eligible for release.
12. AwaOwn Fees
Unless a different fee is displayed or agreed: Merchants pay AwaOwn 2.5% on withdrawals. Partners pay AwaOwn 20% of commissions earned. Shoppers generally pay delivery charges.
Products or promotions may qualify for free delivery.
AwaOwn may introduce or change fees prospectively by giving reasonable notice.
13. Delivery
AwaOwn currently uses FEZ as its primary contracted logistics provider.
AwaOwn may appoint additional logistics providers in the future.
For FBM orders, the Merchant is responsible for the product until it is properly handed to the approved courier.
For FBA orders, AwaOwn is responsible for fulfilment and handover to the courier.
Delivery times may vary according to location, product, courier capacity and other circumstances.
14. Delivery PIN
AwaOwn may issue a unique four-digit PIN to the Shopper.
The PIN is intended to confirm receipt of the order.
The Shopper must keep the PIN confidential and should provide it only after receiving the product.
Where the PIN is successfully activated, AwaOwn will ordinarily treat the order as delivered and accepted.
AwaOwn may investigate exceptional circumstances involving fraud, coercion, technical error, unauthorised use or other circumstances affecting the validity of the delivery confirmation.
15. Returns and Refunds
AwaOwn provides a return and refund process for qualifying orders.
A Shopper should report visible delivery or order problems as soon as possible and, where practicable, within 48 hours.
The 48-hour reporting period does not remove any consumer right that applies under Nigerian law.
Where a product is defective, unsafe or otherwise subject to a statutory remedy, applicable law will prevail.
16. Buyer Protection
AwaOwn Buyer Protection is designed primarily to protect the Shopper's payment while an order is being fulfilled.
AwaOwn holds qualifying transaction funds pending delivery confirmation rather than immediately releasing the funds to the Merchant.
Buyer Protection may apply to: non-delivery; wrong products; damaged products; defective products; products materially different from their description; and other qualifying transaction problems.
Buyer Protection does not mean that AwaOwn guarantees every product sold by every Merchant.
17. Partners
Partners are independent promoters.
A Partner is not an employee, agent, representative or franchisee of AwaOwn.
Partners may promote products through their AwaOwn Store and permitted external channels.
Partners must comply with the Partner Agreement, advertising rules and applicable law.
18. Intellectual Property
All rights in AwaOwn's name, logo, website, applications, software, platform architecture, databases, store technology, designs, content, trademarks, branding and other proprietary technology belong to or are licensed to Rheel Technology Limited.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially exploit AwaOwn intellectual property without written permission.
19. User Content
Where you upload photographs, videos, descriptions, logos or other content to AwaOwn, you confirm that you have the right to use that content.
You grant AwaOwn a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use that content for operating, displaying, promoting and improving the Platform.
You retain ownership of your underlying content unless otherwise agreed.
20. AI
AwaOwn may introduce artificial intelligence features in the future.
AI may be used to assist with recommendations, search, customer support, content or other Platform functions.
AI-generated information may contain errors.
AI services should not be treated as professional legal, medical, financial or other specialist advice.
Users must not attempt to manipulate, attack or interfere with AwaOwn's AI systems.
21. Privacy
AwaOwn processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable Nigerian data-protection law.
Information may be shared with Merchants, Partners, payment providers, logistics providers, technology providers, regulators and other authorised service providers where reasonably necessary and legally permitted.
22. Prohibited User Conduct
You must not: commit fraud; use another person's identity; provide false information; manipulate transactions; abuse refunds; manipulate reviews; sell prohibited products; circumvent AwaOwn fees; conduct unauthorised off-platform transactions; upload infringing content; attack or interfere with the Platform; access another user's account; use AwaOwn for unlawful activity; harass other users; or attempt to exploit AwaOwn's systems.
23. Suspension and Termination
AwaOwn may suspend, restrict or terminate an account where a user: breaches these Terms; engages in fraud; provides false information; sells prohibited or counterfeit products; manipulates the Platform; repeatedly fails to fulfil orders; abuses customers; manipulates reviews; circumvents fees; creates a security risk; violates applicable law; or creates material financial, legal or operational risk.
AwaOwn may temporarily hold funds while investigating a dispute, fraud allegation, chargeback, refund or other legitimate issue.
24. Disclaimers
AwaOwn does not guarantee that: the Platform will always be available; every product will meet a Shopper's expectations; every Merchant will fulfil every order without error; every product is suitable for every person; delivery will always occur within a particular period; or third-party information is always accurate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
25. Liability
To the extent permitted by Nigerian law, AwaOwn's liability arising directly from a particular transaction will generally be limited to the amount paid to AwaOwn in connection with that transaction.
This limitation does not apply where the law prohibits the limitation, including applicable statutory consumer protections.
26. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, a Merchant or Partner agrees to compensate AwaOwn and Rheel Technology Limited for losses, claims, penalties and reasonable costs arising from that user's fraud, unlawful conduct, breach of these Terms, product violations, misleading representations, intellectual-property infringement, or negligence or misconduct.
27. Complaints
Complaints should first be submitted through AwaOwn's customer-support channels.
AwaOwn will attempt to resolve complaints fairly and within a reasonable period.
28. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
29. Dispute Resolution
A dispute should first be submitted to AwaOwn's internal complaints process.
The parties should then attempt good-faith negotiation.
Where appropriate, the parties may proceed to mediation.
If the dispute remains unresolved, it may be referred to arbitration or a court of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria.
Nothing prevents a party from seeking urgent interim relief from a competent court.
Nothing in this clause removes statutory consumer rights.
30. Changes to These Terms
AwaOwn may update these Terms from time to time.
Material changes may be communicated through the Platform, email or other reasonable means.
The updated version will show a new Last Updated date.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, continued use of AwaOwn after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
31. Severability
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective.

You must not list stolen, counterfeit or unlawfully obtained products.
AwaOwn may request evidence of ownership or lawful supply.

You are responsible for ensuring that your products comply with applicable Nigerian laws and regulatory standards.
This includes applicable requirements concerning: product safety; labelling; ingredients; expiry dates; manufacturer information; country of origin; product claims; regulatory approvals; and consumer warnings.
Recent FCCPC guidance has specifically highlighted enforcement concerns around incomplete or misleading product labels. (FCCPC)
6. Fulfilment by Merchant
For FBM orders, you must: accept the order; prepare the correct product; package it appropriately; make it available for collection; hand it to the approved courier; and provide any information required for delivery.
You remain responsible for the product until it is properly handed to the courier.
7. Fulfilment by AwaOwn

The Merchant remains responsible for the product's authenticity, legality, quality and description unless otherwise agreed.
AwaOwn may establish separate storage, fulfilment and inventory-management charges.
8. Returns
You agree to accept qualifying returns in accordance with applicable law and AwaOwn's return procedures.
Your private return policy cannot remove a consumer right that Nigerian law protects.
For defective or unsafe products, statutory remedies may apply beyond the ordinary 48-hour reporting period. The FCCPA provides specific consumer remedies for defective goods. (FCCPC)
9. Refunds
Where you are responsible for a refund, you authorise AwaOwn to deduct the applicable amount from funds payable to you.
This may include: product price; applicable delivery charges; return costs; platform charges; and reasonable costs arising from your breach.
10. Merchant Payouts
Funds become eligible for release after the applicable delivery confirmation and subject to: refunds; returns; chargebacks; disputes; fraud reviews; platform fees; adjustments; and applicable law.
Eligible payouts are generally processed every Monday.
11. Merchant Fee
AwaOwn charges a 2.5% withdrawal fee on Merchant withdrawals unless another rate is displayed or agreed.
AwaOwn may introduce additional disclosed fees for FBA, storage, fulfilment, returns or other optional services.
12. Reviews
You must not: create fake reviews; pay for false reviews; threaten customers into giving positive reviews; remove or manipulate legitimate customer feedback; or ask customers to submit misleading reviews.
13. Off-Platform Transactions
You must not use AwaOwn customer information to move AwaOwn transactions outside the Platform for the purpose of avoiding AwaOwn fees, payment controls or transaction rules.
14. Product Recalls
You must immediately notify AwaOwn if a product is recalled, found unsafe, found counterfeit or becomes subject to regulatory action.
AwaOwn may immediately suspend affected listings.
15. Merchant Indemnity

16. Suspension
AwaOwn may suspend a Merchant where it reasonably suspects: fraud; counterfeit products; regulatory violations; repeated fulfilment failures; customer abuse; review manipulation; off-platform circumvention; payment abuse; or other material violations.
AwaOwn Partner Agreement
1. Partner Status
An AwaOwn Partner is an independent promoter.
Nothing in the relationship creates employment, partnership, agency, franchise or joint ownership between AwaOwn and the Partner.
2. Partner Store
Approved Partners may create an AwaOwn Store.
Partners may select eligible products and promote them through their Store and approved external channels.
3. Promotion Channels
Partners may promote products through: WhatsApp; Instagram; Facebook; TikTok; websites; AwaOwn Stores; and other lawful channels.
4. Advertising Rules
Partners must provide truthful information.
You must not: invent product benefits; make unsupported medical claims; guarantee results; misrepresent discounts; misrepresent product availability; use fake testimonials; impersonate AwaOwn; claim to be an employee of AwaOwn; use deceptive advertising; or make claims that contradict the approved product information.
5. Partner Commission
A Partner earns commission when a qualifying successful sale is completed.
AwaOwn retains 20% of the Partner's commission unless another rate applies to the relevant programme.
6. When Commission Is Earned
A sale becomes a qualifying commission transaction when: the Shopper completes payment; the order is successfully fulfilled; the applicable delivery confirmation occurs; the transaction is not cancelled or refunded; and the transaction passes AwaOwn's fraud and transaction checks.
7. Commission Reversal
A commission may be reversed where: the Shopper receives a refund; the product is returned; the transaction is fraudulent; the Partner manipulated the transaction; the commission was credited in error; the transaction violates Platform rules; or another qualification condition was not satisfied.
8. Self-Purchases
Partners must not purchase through their own promotional activity to generate commissions unless AwaOwn expressly permits it.
9. Paid Advertising
Partners may use paid advertising where permitted.
All advertising must comply with applicable law and AwaOwn's advertising rules.
10. AwaOwn Branding
AwaOwn may provide logos, images, product information and other promotional material.
You may use those materials only for authorised promotion.
AwaOwn may withdraw that permission at any time.
11. Merchant and Shopper Contact
Partners must not misuse Shopper or Merchant information.

The parties should then attempt good-faith negotiation and, where appropriate, mediation.
Unresolved disputes may be referred to arbitration or a competent Nigerian court.
AwaOwn Shopper Terms & Purchase Policy
Operated by Rheel Technology Limited
1. Before You Buy
Before placing an order, you should review: product description; product price; seller information; delivery information; return conditions; warranty information where provided; and any product-specific terms.
AwaOwn expects Merchants to provide accurate information.
2. Product Prices
The price shown at checkout is the applicable purchase price, subject to obvious technical or pricing errors.
Delivery charges are normally separate unless free delivery applies.
3. Payment
Payment must be made through an approved payment method.
AwaOwn may hold transaction funds while the order is being fulfilled.
Funds are generally released after delivery is confirmed.
4. Delivery
FEZ is currently AwaOwn's primary delivery partner.
AwaOwn may use other logistics providers in the future.
The Shopper is responsible for providing an accurate delivery address and being reasonably available to receive the order.
5. Delivery PIN
The Shopper may receive a four-digit delivery PIN.
The PIN is confidential.
The Shopper should only provide the PIN after receiving the product.
Once the PIN is successfully activated, AwaOwn will ordinarily treat the order as delivered.
If the Shopper provides the PIN before receiving the product, AwaOwn may be unable to treat the resulting dispute in the same way as an order where the PIN was never activated.
Where the PIN was not activated and the order was not delivered, the applicable courier may be responsible for compensation under its contractual obligations.
6. Inspecting Your Order
You should inspect the product as soon as reasonably possible.
You should notify AwaOwn within 48 hours where practicable if: the wrong product was delivered; the product arrived visibly damaged; parts are missing; the product materially differs from its description; or another obvious delivery problem exists.
The 48-hour period does not remove statutory consumer rights.
7. Wrong Product
If you receive the wrong product, AwaOwn may arrange: return of the wrong product; delivery of the correct product; or a refund.
Where appropriate, the refund may include the original delivery charge.
8. Damaged Product
Where a product arrives damaged, AwaOwn may arrange: replacement; return; or refund.
Where the courier caused the damage, responsibility may fall on the courier.
9. Defective Product
If a product is defective, you may have a right to repair, replacement or refund under applicable law and the relevant circumstances.
The FCCPA provides consumer protections concerning quality, safety and defective goods, including statutory remedies that may extend beyond AwaOwn's ordinary 48-hour reporting procedure. (FCCPC)
10. Product Different From Description
If the product materially differs from its listing, you may request a return and refund.
AwaOwn may ask for photographs, videos or other information to assess the complaint.
11. Change of Mind
A change-of-mind return is subject to the applicable Merchant's return policy, except where Nigerian law gives you a mandatory right to return the product.
12. Used or Opened Products
AwaOwn may restrict voluntary returns for products that have been used, opened, damaged or altered.
This does not affect mandatory statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe or otherwise qualifying products.
13. Perishable Goods
Perishable goods are currently not permitted on AwaOwn.
14. Digital Products
Digital products are generally non-refundable after access, delivery or download, except where required by law, or the relevant product policy expressly provides a refund.
15. Skincare and Personal-Care Products
AwaOwn does not independently guarantee the safety, effectiveness or suitability of skincare or personal-care products supplied by Merchants.
Merchants remain responsible for product information, ingredients, claims, labelling and regulatory compliance.
16. Fraudulent Orders
AwaOwn may cancel an order where fraud is suspected.
Approved refunds will generally be returned to the original payment source.
17. Refused Delivery
Where an order is refused at delivery, AwaOwn may arrange a refund where the transaction qualifies.
Applicable delivery or return costs may be deducted where permitted by law and the applicable policy.
AwaOwn Buyer Protection Policy
1. Purpose
AwaOwn Buyer Protection is designed to protect qualifying Shopper payments while an order is being fulfilled.
AwaOwn does this by keeping qualifying funds pending rather than immediately releasing them to the Merchant.
2. What Buyer Protection May Cover
Buyer Protection may apply where: an order is not delivered; the wrong product is delivered; the product arrives damaged; the product is defective; the product materially differs from its description; or another qualifying transaction problem occurs.
3. What Buyer Protection Does Not Mean
Buyer Protection does not mean: AwaOwn guarantees every Merchant; AwaOwn guarantees every product; AwaOwn guarantees product effectiveness; every change-of-mind request will be accepted; or every complaint automatically results in a refund.
4. Delivery Confirmation
The four-digit Shopper PIN is AwaOwn's primary delivery-confirmation mechanism.
Where the PIN is correctly activated, the order will ordinarily be treated as delivered.
AwaOwn may investigate exceptional circumstances.
5. Refund Decisions
AwaOwn may consider: order records; product information; photographs; videos; delivery records; PIN records; courier information; Merchant information; Shopper information; and other relevant evidence.
AwaOwn may provide a replacement, refund, repair or other appropriate remedy.
6. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy removes rights that consumers have under Nigerian law.
